Why?

Why this blog?

This blog is a look into the ultimate community/life/practice through college and club tournaments. Specifically I will be looking into the differences in the local ultimate community with other larger surrounding communities.

Imagine the Chattanooga ultimate scene similar to that of Atlanta(chain lightening)- minus the quantity of athletes. When I began playing in Chattanooga 4 years ago, I joined a college team led by 6 seniors. They embraced this unsound style of play, living and dieing by the huck, hammer, and scoober...

This is a blog about the transformation, learning, and teaching of a team, and a player.

I don't plan on providing any more insight than previous bloggers, just my application of outside sources to the small college I attend/captain. And my thoughts and discussions with players outside the college, some of whom have already had a large impact on my ultimate life.

A few of the topics I hope to cover:
-conditioning, how to convince a mediocre team they need it
-weightlifting vs plyos vs track vs distance
-vert&ho stack, when in doubt run...
-how to cut, and throw for the score
-redzone offense, most frustrating offense ever
-drilling with purpose
-practice makes permenate
-respect, give it, earn it, keep it

and many other things that i find come up throughout the course of a season.
